Gabriel Keats is in his bunk, half-sleeping, tossing and turning
Lexi Vargas: is sitting on the countertop, sipping a coffee mug of milk and looking mellow. "I am living. How you doing Captain my Captain?"
Rio Starr steps into the galley. Wait. His shirt is loose and his sleeves are rolled up. Hell /has/ frozen over.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Stiff. Was worried about you. Thought you were gonna die on me.
Rio Starr: "aaah, excellent... and about time my patients take pity on me and get together in one place."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks up to Rio and smiles.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Hows the pirate doing Rio?
Lexi Vargas: Na...I can't Die. God don't want me and satin fears I'll take over. Sides all that I have a good Doc.
Rio Starr shakes his head, his brows knitting. "He's breathing. I got him patched up well enough but I'm not happy about the fact that he hasn't come conscious much."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): yeah...
Rio Starr blushes suddenly at Lexi's words. "Ah...thanks. How are both of you?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Lexi, "What was your plan then? To make me die of fright? so you could take over here?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Stiff Doc..when can the stitches come out?
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) walks into the mess hall, yawning and rubbing her eyes. "Whass goin' on?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) nods at Xiao li. "Hey Xiao."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): We docking soon?
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown): Nav says we got another 45 minutes.
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown): Which is good 'cause I need some chow.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): okay
Rio Starr looks behind him to Xiao Li and smiles a bit. "Hello sleepyhead." He glances back to Merasu, then strides closer to her and Lexi. "Give it a few more days... You're both healing fast, but I'd rather be on the safe side."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Grab a bar, shen is still down.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): They cramp my style Doc, and they're not so pretty.
Lexi Vargas: gives a easy shrug to the Captain. "Wasn't trying to scare ya."
Rio Starr chuckles a bit. "You'd be cramped even more if you started bleeding again."
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) heads over to the storage drawers, opens a drawer, and pulls out a protein bar.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Lexiagain, "I think I like you half dead." Leans out and places a kiss on lexi's forehead, "Just don't do it again though."
Rio Starr moves out of Xiao Li's way. "So what's going to happen when we get back planet-side?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): we turn over Jadi's partner to her. Get our pay.. Relax awhile.
Lexi Vargas: chuckles a bit and scrunches his face when he gets kissed. "Low blood pressure makes me mellow. What can I say."
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown): 'Bout time we got paid f'r this job.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Then I order you get drained daily.
Lexi Vargas: Order declined. So..what you going to do with the guy in the box?
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Maybe we should try it on Xiao li too.
Rio Starr nods and leans a hip against the table, relaxing. He seems more relaxed, looser, now that he's no longer so prim and proper on his clothes and hair. "Montanio's been helping a lot in the med bay. That's one point in his favor."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Yeah..watch him.. He's got the loyalties of a snake.
Rio Starr chuckles. "And no daily draining. I don't have any leeches, sorry. Bulletholes are out of the question."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): He's awful pretty though.
Rio Starr clears his throat and pushes away from the table, moving to set the kettle on to boil water. He's blushing for some unknown reason.
Gabriel Keats sits up with a start in his bunk
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Rio. "Doc? You agree with me?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): I sure hate to see a nice looking man go to waste.
Lexi Vargas: sips milks. See the red head being quiet.
Gabriel Keats pulls on a shirt and climbs out of bunk, hoping he can scam a meal
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Morning Gabe.
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) munches her protein bar sullenly. Like that's anything new.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Shen's still down...grab a protein bar.
Gabriel Keats: "Morning."
Rio Starr looks over to Gabe and smiles a bit. "Good morning. How are you doing?"
Gabriel Keats grabs a protien bar, gives an apologetic half-smile at Sabrina, then looks at Rio. "I'm fine, doc. You?"
Lexi Vargas: leans his head back against the cubbord door and watches the gathering thu slitted eyes.
Rio Starr nods, his blush fading at the change in conversation. The water's set on to boil, and he looks back, assessing everyone with that practiced eye. "Fine. Other than thinking we could all use a couple days off, and some real food."
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) walks over to the lounge area, as far away from Gabe and Rae as possible.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Xiao Li with an offended aire
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): What? Am I going to rub off on you? I got a disease or something?
Gabriel Keats: "Real food would be nice. . ." His face flickers with concentration.
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown): 'Scuze me if I don't care to get between the two lovebirds.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Gabe, ignoring Xiao Li for a moment and tries to send mental pictures of calming things to him.

Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): You are so going to get a beating one day.
Lexi Vargas: groans softly.
Rio Starr moves back to the counter, leaning against it casually. He shakes his head a bit at Xiao Li and Merasu. "Xiao Li..." he groans very quietly.
Gabriel Keats: "Lovebirds?" He laughs. "What the hell you talking about, Xiao Li?"
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown): Oh come off it. I know you two were sharin' a bunk last night.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at her like she has lost her mind.
Rio Starr: "Gabe was just worried over the captain. She /did/ get wounded, yo know. And i was there too. Does that mean that we were having a threesome?"
Gabriel Keats: "Sorry, doc, but my idea of a good time ain't got any bandages in it."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Amen.
Rio Starr chuckles at Gabe. "Or stitches. They pull too much."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) glances at Rio.
Sabrina McGee: Okay, so is sharing a bunk verboten on this ship then? I waren't aware of that rule.. guess Shen and I're in trouble then..
Gabriel Keats grins
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Maybe Xiao Li isnt noticing you two so much. Why am I the one she picks on?
Rio Starr sighs as Xiao Li heads out of the hall. Then he blinks, surprised, at Sabrina. "Huh?"
Gabriel Keats: "Sabrina, that ain't a rule. That's Xiao Li being a pain in the pigu."
Sabrina McGee snorts..
Sabrina McGee: I thought that was par for the course?
Gabriel Keats: "'Zactly"
Sabrina McGee: Mera: maybe she's just pissy about a woman in charge what ain't her..
Lexi Vargas: I think she has a thing for you Captain.
Sabrina McGee: err.. Rae..
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) glares at lexi

Rio Starr taps his fingers in a staccato pattern on the countertop as he looks at Lexi, his features set in the lines of planning...
Lexi Vargas: "Your turn will come Sabrina. She just has her plate full at the moment
Sabrina McGee: Yeah.. apparently she hasn't found a reason to be pissy about girls who like girls yet..
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Maybe men scare her, but women don't.
Gabriel Keats: "Maybe she's just too thick to notice?"
Rio Starr breathes a sigh of relief as the kettle boils. "Tea anyone?" he asks as he turns his back to the group.
Sabrina McGee starts singing a little.. o/~ nobody's gonna break my stride.. nobody's gonna keep me down.. o/~

Gabriel Keats: "Yes. I got a hell of a headache. Think some tea might quiet it a bit."
Lexi Vargas: "I really think she just sorta hates men in general. And when a woman might be starting to like one of us, it grosses her out.

Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Lexi..wanna bunk in my room tonight? Really set her off?

Rio Starr nods to Gabe, then suddenly laughs at Lexi's words. "That might be part of it." He blinks and shakes his head at the rude suggestions.
Sabrina McGee: "We had it so packed, arms and legs were everywhere.. you couldn't -not- be groped!"
Lexi Vargas: laughs. "Sure Why not. I can even howl occasionaly just to set the mood"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) giggles hysterically.
Rio Starr keeps his back to the group as he goes quiet and just focuses on making tea.
Gabriel Keats groans and rolls his eyes.
Sabrina McGee sticks her tongue out at Gabe
Gabriel Keats: "Wasn't groanin' at you"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) relaxes, seeing that Sabrina and gabe aren't going to kill each other.
Rio Starr finishes with making the tea, and simply pours several cups, glancing back to Gabe and Merasu as if to inform them quietly that it's ready.
Lexi Vargas: considers his empty milk mug....."Yeah. I guess I can make do with some tea."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) wanders over and gets the cup of tea, smiling, "Thanks Rio."
Gabriel Keats heads over to where Rio's standing. "Thank you."
Gabriel Keats sips the tea, eyes closed, sighing.
Rio Starr gives a very quiet chuckle. "You know...I head there's dried milk powder available in a couple towns."
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): On the ship we had some
Rio Starr piques his interest and looks over to her. "Really... "
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Billie. "yeah, well, we weren't concerned with groceries while we were bleeding to death. Sorry billie."
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): ...and we got a jar of real honey
Gabriel Keats: "Should've raided your ship."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Might have been good.
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): ye still can... I kin show ya where we hid the good stuff
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Maybe we'll go back for it.
[18:03] Rio Starr nods. "That would be good. We could use any extra stores, food or medical."
Rio Starr: "Maybe we can do a salvage run."
Lexi Vargas: So did we get what we planned to get off that ship or was its captain the only objective?
Gabriel Keats: "Gotta get back to town first."
Lexi Vargas: Why?
Gabriel Keats: "This is damn good, Doc."'

Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): its not like we had so much, but the capt'n had a special store of goodies

Gabriel Keats: "Ain't like we can't go back."
Rio Starr nods in agreement with Gabe, leaning back and holding his mug reverently. "We have to get the pirate captain on ground and in better care than here. I can keep him alive and patch him...but he'd do better planetside."
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): I'd be right happy to show ya the hidy hole
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Next time Billie, next time.
Rio Starr: "And...rather not risk having the chance of someone deciding to get back on that ship and causing problems."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Bout time for people to buckle in..we should be getting close. xiao said it'd only be 45 minutes.. leaves us about 15.
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): so whats gonna happen to me when we get to ground?
Gabriel Keats: "I head to Rol's." He gives the captain a sly look.
Sabrina McGee: Sorry.. was in aim-land for a bit..
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at him, curious. "dancing?"
Rio Starr looks over to Rae for some answer to Billie's question.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Rio, not knowing how to answer billie's question. "Not the law Rio. I dunno."
Gabriel Keats raises his eyebrows, disappointed he can't press her buttons that easily. "Something like that."
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): looks innocent and harmless
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks unimpressed at billie.
Rio Starr nods. "I was wondering if Jadi had any instructions regarding the crew."
Gabriel Keats: "You ain't harmless. You're a pirate."

Lexi Vargas: takes this as another fine opportunity to shut his mouth.

Rio Starr grumbles faintly, moving restlessly and uncomfortably. "We can't do much right at this minute...we're landing soon," he tries to assure, then blinks at Merasu. "What??"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Reckon I could Rio?
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): laughs " your shore are alot purtyer than me
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Just cause you can't see the scars Billie. That's all.
Sabrina McGee: Rio.. your time on this ship will be made much, much simpler if you can learn the wonderful skill of "nod & smile* when us womenfolk are around.
Lexi Vargas: rgans and shakes his head at the Captain. "You know you take all the fun out of being a smart ass when you make it that easy."
Rio Starr looks like he'd really like to disappear into the background. "Merasu... if you wanted to...yes, you could be a good Companion. But I doubt you'd like it as much as being here."
Rio Starr blushes and sips at his tea.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks like she's seriously contemplating it.
Sabrina McGee: Billie, there's more to people than just pretties.. there's heart and strength and loyalty and respect.. and it all makes up a whole picture of a person's worth.. so shut up your mouth a bit and let me talk you onto this crew, gorramit.. :P

Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) listens as Xiao Li gives the all buckle up signal over the comms. "Ok Gabe. Doesn't matter now anyhow. Everyone you heard the lady. Buckle up."
Lexi Vargas: :leans a hip against the counter. "Do we even have another mission planned at the moment....aside from the salvage on that ship we shot up?"
Sabrina McGee: Well.. this first job really showed me some flaws with how we got things set up..
Rio Starr looks up to Gabriel, his brows knitting and rising, concern overtaking any discomfort.
Gabriel Keats buckles up
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) 's face goes red at brina's comment and she looks at the floor on her way to buckle up, not making eyecontact with anyone.
Sabrina McGee: Nothin' you did, Cap'n.. definitely. Nothin' could be done about it..
Rio Starr shakes his head as he heads to buckle up as well. "It was us as a group and a crew, Cap'n. None of us were prepared, really."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Yeah.
Sabrina McGee: just that in tight situations like that.. having the only folks be on the ship being me, Doc, and Xiao Li.. well, we weren't prepared none for the idea that that person to decide to storm -OUR- ship..
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): You handled it right well though Brina.
Gabriel Keats looks down. "That ain't the cap's fault"
Sabrina McGee: if it weren't for Shen coming back, I'dve been trying to protect the ship on my own.. and I'm no gunslinger.
Rio Starr nods. "And I am already working on fixing my lack of fighting skills, so I can at least defend myself and not be a weight on everyone else."
Gabriel Keats: "I shouldn'ta been hung over like I was."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Another day.
Lexi Vargas: Yeah,,,but is miss Billie able to do that? She all but admitted she has no skills."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): WE'll figure it out later.
Sabrina McGee: Shen wants to teach me to use guns.. but still, having a few more able-handed folk for firefights.. and maybe one that can stay behind to guard the ship..
Gabriel Keats just looks at the floor
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): I kin shoot, and I kin teach ya how
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): I hear you. In better circumstances I'd have been on the ship.
Sabrina McGee: Lexi, if I can keep a pirate captain at bay with the threat of a close range .45, how hard can it be?
Lexi Vargas: :looks an arm around the center pole, his version of 'strapping in"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) closes her eyes as the turbulance of breaking atmo jostles the ship about before they come to a rocky yet safe landing.
Sabrina McGee: However, I think -everyone- on this ship should be getting some training in fighting or shooting.. I don't want to be tied to any train tracks crying my eyes out.. I don't wanna go down that way.
Lexi Vargas: :looks ever so slightly put out. "I;ll have you know there is more to guns then just hanging on to one.:
Rio Starr looks over to Lexi. "Then it sounds like you're being volunteered to teach the rest of us who know nothing about guns, Lexi."
Sabrina McGee: I'm not saying there isn't.. but does everyone have to be a perfect marksman to get the job done?
Sabrina McGee: Or can some of us still manage to survive with some rudimentary training?
Lexi Vargas: It sure helps tho...keeps you from shooting your own team..." the red head blinks at the dooc owlishly. "I did what now?"
Rio Starr chuckles softly as he hangs on to whereever he can. "Volunteered. Everyone who knows how to handle firearms and lasers... should pitch in and teach the rest of us. I'll teach everyone the rudiments of first aid."
Gabriel Keats: I can help with the shootin'.
Gabriel Keats: Teach and whatnot.
Rio Starr: "We can't have just one or two of us able to do things...it would be better if we can save our butts if someone is down or unavailable."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Yeah..
Gabriel Keats: If the cap'n ever lets me have my gun back, that is.
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): (Petey ruffles his feathers during the landing and makes grumbling sounds)

Lexi Vargas: Took your gun...that is not sporting. I would not know how to sleep with out mine.

Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): looks hopeful
Lexi Vargas: eyes her back "What?"

Rio Starr just looks between the captain, Gabe, and Lexi...and wisely keeps quiet.
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown): We're good, Cap'n. Let's haul in these pirates and collect our pay.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) nods and continues her way stiffly to the medbay, "Gabe, you and rio grab him. Lexi and I aren't up for hauling rocks today."
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) powers down the engines and heads down to the cargo bay
Gabriel Keats walks into the med bay. "Wakey Wakey, Johnny boy."
Rio Starr nods and unbuckles/unstraps/lets go of his 'safety seat', and heads towards the medbay.
Rio Starr: "Let's not wake him up. He'd be easier to handle unconscious...he really couldn't walk as it is."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Fine, Fine.
Gabriel Keats: "Yeah. Plus he wasn't too happy when I tried to wake him up before. . ."
Gabriel Keats grabs his shoulders
Rio Starr gets the gurney out, unrolling it quickly. Then he gets the pirate's legs, so he and Gabe can wrestle dead weight onto the gurney quickly. "On three. One, two, three"
Lexi Vargas: watches, uneasy with being useless.
Gabriel Keats lifts the body's front half up

Gabriel Keats grabs the other end. "Lets do the thing." He walks
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): takes the weight of the end that Rio is on
Rio Starr nods to Billie, and lets her take over. He watches her for a moment, thoughtfully, and follows the group.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) makes to the bar, jadi's usual hangout and waits for the crew.
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) is already there. She's done flying, she's not going to waste a moment of drinking time.
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): Gabriel Keats heads over with billie, hauling, going to the bar
Rio Starr follows the gurney, keeping an eye on Johnny. He's not going to let this one die, no way.
Gabriel Keats sets down his end when they get in and heads towards the bar, looking decidedly worse for the wear.
Lexi Vargas: grumps quietly..."Man I hjate being back here."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) watches them, motioning to dump the pirate over by the couches.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): We won't be here long Lexi. Our ship is runnin.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Gabe. No drinking tonight.
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown): No drinking?!
Gabriel Keats ignores her. "Scotch, please."
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) looks like someone just cancelled Christmas.
Rio Starr smiles a bit to Lexi. "Rather be in the black?" He checks Johnny's pulse, then bends and draws bck the pirate's eyelids, checking his response again.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) goes over and takes his scotch and downs it.
Gabriel Keats signs. "Fine."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Thanks for the Drink Gabe.
Gabriel Keats smiles. "Anytime."
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown): Thought we were gonna stay here and relax!
Gabriel Keats: "Think it's just me the captain's rainin' on."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Relax all you want Xiao Li. Gabe and I have an understanding.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): I think it's my turn to get drunk. *already feeling the scotch a little*
Gabriel Keats: "You have an understanding. I got orders.'
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) raises an eyebrow but says nothing. (for once.)
Gabriel Keats gets a glass of water from the bar and sips it, sulking
Lexi Vargas: nods to Rio. "I would. All this dinking is a waste of time."
Rio Starr glances up at the others, and shakes his head a bit. he remains near the still-unconscious Johnny. "Well. We're here to get paid, too. That's no waste of time?"
Gabriel Keats: "Ain't fair."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): You done enough last night.
Gabriel Keats: "Matter of opinion."
Rio Starr: "Hey, you two. No fighting over the liquor, or you're both banned from it."
Rio Starr smiles faintly.
Gabriel Keats holds his hands up in the air. "All right, I give."
Lexi Vargas: stands by the bar and shakes his head.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks up, waiting for jadi to come pay for the guy.
Montanio Andalso, who followed the group quietly, is trying to be nice and subtle at the moment. No sense in drawing attention to himself or the Captain might start listing incriminating facts about himself.
Lexi Vargas: nods to Montanio, "Come over here Face and stop lurking in the shadows.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Why are we calling him face??
Gabriel Keats: "He has one, don't he?"
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) snickers. "That mean I can call you 'Ass'?"
Lexi Vargas: "Because I like words with one syable?
Gabriel Keats: "Don't you already?"
Montanio Andalso clears his throat. "Its a nickname. I always wanted a nickname. But mostly, because perhaps Montanio only sounds good when I say it. You have to roll the N right..."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) sighs. "Shut up. Jadi, here's your partner. We have to refuel to go get the salvage. We'll bring it in later."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): For the record. I don't appreciate you almost getting my crew killed so you can get your boy toy back.
Montanio Andalso arches his brows. "Boy toy? Who is whos boy toy?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Mont, "Dunno, you into women?"
Lexi Vargas: gestures to the knocked out pirate captain on the gurni. "He was"
Rio Starr pulls a chair up near the patient's gurney and settles down.
Gabriel Keats sips his water, sullen.
Montanio Andalso lids his eyes a little. "I'm into whoever keeps me out of prison." Then he winks.
Lexi Vargas: stage whispers to Mont. "Say yes"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) gives him her own look, "are you then. Well, you'd have to be damn good to convince me of it."
Jadi Goodliffe -stares- at the Captain. The one she'd hired, anyway. It's not a 'nice' stare. "What... did you say?" There's a twitch on the corner of one eye.
Gabriel Keats laughs suddenly at Rae's remark
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): I'm saying you almost got three of us killed, for pretty boy here.
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) smirks into her drink
Rio Starr remains quiet, but watches Rae and Jadi.
Jadi Goodliffe: "And that makes him my... 'boy-toy'... How?" Cold. Very cold.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Well, if thats' the case.

Montanio Andalso arches his brows at this little nugget of gossip. By the look on his face...he /loves/ gossip.
Rio Starr slaps his hand over his face, sliding down in his chair a bit and closing his eyes. He's not sure if he wants to watch fur fly.
Gabriel Keats reaches for a gun he doesn't have and glares at Rae
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at gabe with suprise on her face, wondering what he's so angry about.

Lexi Vargas: goes over and has a seat...."We might be here awhile Doc"
Gabriel Keats just looks nervous
Jadi Goodliffe narrows her eyes at Rae... Then smiles thinly. "If ya like him so much- Then you can have him, after I'm through. It will, of course, cost ya..." She lets that trail off, before her voice settling back into 'cold' mode again. "-Do- tell what makes ya think I would -ever- work with a piece of flashy le se like -that-." Okay, heating up, with a sharp glance at the pirate Captain.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) offers a half shrug. "Let's just call it a hunch. Got a few scars yourself don't ya Jadi."
Rio Starr smiles wryly at Lexi. "I had a feeling. i'm wondering, though, if I need to think about protecting my most unconscious patient in any way."
Lexi Vargas: I think you are going to have to get unattached to him soon.
Rio Starr: "No attachment here...he's got enough of those, like tentacles."
Montanio Andalso heads up tot he bar and orders something frothy. Then he looks around to see which member of the crew is paying the least attention...or the drunkest. Then he leans in and points to the Captain so that the dude will put it on her tab.
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) is well on her way to drunk already.
Jadi Goodliffe fixes an icey-blue stare onto Rae, her voice dropping. "Ya should know somethin' about assuming, -Captain-. Don't." - And shifts her eyes over to Montanio. "- And who is -this-, then?"
Gabriel Keats is just wishing he was drunk
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): An extra bonus..pretty ain't he. got two of them.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Mont, "I am NOT paying for that."

Rio Starr clears his throat softly. "That is Montanio... who has been helping in the medbay with the people who were hurt. Including this guy, and lexi and the Captain, who were badly wounded."
Montanio Andalso blinks a few times. "Oh...no...did you think I was pointing at you? No, I was pointing at her." He motions to Xiao Li behind the toasted lady's back.

Jadi Goodliffe: "-More- captives?" Jadi starts to look... pleased? "I'll overlook this, -this- time, Captain." The 'bouncer' reaches back over the bar to a little sealed packet. "They don't leave yer sight until I say so."
Gabriel Keats grins at Roland's appearance. "Rol. . .my savior. . .hook me up?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): NO rol don't you give him a drop.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Jadi, they're mine.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): You only asked for the captain, you specifically said you didnt' care about the crew.
Montanio Andalso grins. "I like the idea of someone watching me." He sways his foot.
Gabriel Keats looks at Mont suddenly with disgust, but says nothing
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): I don't think thats what she had in mind Mont.
Rio Starr blinks at Montanio and blushes, then slouches in his seat even more. Oh brother.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): I imagine it would be a little more painful.
Montanio Andalso thinks about that way longer than is appropriate. "But...its not jail?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Might be of a sort.
Jadi Goodliffe looks less pleased again. "Funny ya say that, -Captain-, considerin' who owns yer -ship-." She is absolutely still. "Dependin' on what Blaze has ta say, I'll be chattin' with -them-, too." Montanio and Billie get thin smiles that bode -no- good.

Rio Starr peers through his fingers at Montanio, then drops his hand and shakes his head to him i an exaggerated manner, mouthing 'NO!' to him.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): You might own the ship, But I'm in charge of the crew. You chose me for it. And I'm not keen on them getting killed on my watch. I've seen you. You know how dangerous it is. I take my job seriously. Pardon me if I'm not all shiny with almost losing them first time out to a shipload of pirates we weren't quite ready for with a crew of 3 to fight.
Lexi Vargas: "Well far be it from me to point out the shiney side of things...but we did all survive. I think we should be cheering it. Heay ...we little crew took on and beat a porate ship. Damn we are some awsome dudes.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): yeah..
Montanio Andalso is not oblivious to Rio's warning and he nods a little, then shifts in his chair to try to blend in with the crew...seem more...crew-like and thus under the protection of the crew's formidable captain. "I love being a part of this team..." He takes a drink.
Rio Starr nods and relaxes. "Even managed to get the captain and take him down...without any of us getting killed in the process."
Sabrina McGee: "Big Damn Heroes, Sir.." "Ain't We Just."
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) gives Montanio a weird look. "The hell you are."
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie): (Petey flies behind the bar and begings to explore the bottles)
Jadi Goodliffe holds up the packet of pay, looking sternly back at Rae. "Yer lackin' tactics ain't my problem unless ya don't get results." A thin smile- Almost approving- Is directed towards Lexi, before she looks back again. "Yer -crew- did a fine job, that case." And the packet? Flipped casually towards the bodyguard.
Roland Josephus frowns, "Hey hye... Get you of there."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): You don't have a clue how good my crew did.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) turns and orders another scotch.
Lexi Vargas: chuckles. "We lost a bit of blood and hide...but that grows back." He snags the packet out of the air and winks at Jadi. "Hell we are this good first time out and not knowing how to be a team...nest time we will be stunning".
Gabriel Keats squeezes his eyes shut, hand to his head... "Everyone did very well. . .drinks for everyone. . ."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): NO drinks for Gabe.
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) shrugs. "Don't look at me, I just fly the damn thing. Didn't do none of the shootin'."
Roland Josephus looks up from the bar, and begins reaching for bottles.
Lexi Vargas: ambles over and hands the packet over to Merasu. "Captain"
Rio Starr nods to Lexi, and smiles. "But I think the Captain did do a good job. She's our leader. A crew isn't much without a leader."
Billie (Elsbeth McConachie) looks thristy
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) gives lexi a tired look, "Thanks, brina, you good with math? Ten percent for the ship..rest divided equally." Gives it to her.
Gabriel Keats: "Of course not. I didn't do anything, so there wouldn't be any drinks."
Montanio Andalso chuckles a bit as he sips his drink...also noticing how Gabe isn't allowed to have any. He tries to make eye contact and then goes "Mmmmmm."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) reaches out and cuffs Mont.
Jadi Goodliffe looks over at Roland. "I'll get our new guest all set up." Then, without looking at Rae: "Prisoners and salvage belong ta the town. They get handed over smart, ya get a bonus." And heads for the gurney, wheeling the Pirate Captain towards the ramps downstairs.

Gabriel Keats: "Very mature. Exceptionally cultured." He glares.

Roland Josephus nods absently to Jadi, and begins to fill a line of glasses.
Lexi Vargas: Salvage belongs to the town. Dang...there goes the real bonus.

Rio Starr pads over to Rae and settles his arm around her shoulders. "Next time...we change our plan and salvage before coming back?"

Montanio Andalso sputters. "What! Handed over to the town?" He rubs his shoulder where he was hit and then knits his brows. "Oh...please...really aren't going to turn me over to the town are you? I'm just an innocent bystander in all of this. I've never lifted an ill hand to anyone in my life!" Let the pleading begin.

Rio Starr sighs softly, looking at the various fallen faces and people trying to forget their cares. "It wasn't so bad. We /did/ survive."

Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) sneaks in behind Jadi. Hopefully the rattle of the gurney wheels will mask her movement...
Jadi Goodliffe wheels him on down, idly tapping the wall on the way past- The door *thuds* shut just behind the two women. For once, she actually seems rather distracted...

Rio Starr whispers again to Merasu, then straightens up with a faint wry twist to his lips.
Gabriel Keats reaches out to take Montanio's hand. "C'mon. . ."

Rio Starr nods to Merasu, and pushes away from the bar. He takes advantage of his very long legs and walks around Merasu and Gabe, placing a hand on Montanio's shoulder. "Montanio...come with me for a moment."
Montanio Andalso hand is almost taken and he sucks in a little breath. Then he blinks his brown eyes a few times, lamenting, "Ah my Captain have I told you today how nice you look. Its such a pleasure to absorb this feeling of family in every word." He looks up towards the Doctor and then glances to the Captain, fearing the whole...getting shot in the back issue.

Rio Starr nods, then narrows his eyes slightly at Montanio's brush of Gabe's shoulder. He pulls Montanio aside, on the other side of Rae so she can focus on Gabe, then bends down to whisper to Montanio.

Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) sighs. okay Gabe. Probably should keep an eye on you anyhow.
Rio Starr nods to Montanio's whisper back, though he doesn't relax, his expression still cold behind the blush, his posture wary but ramrod straight.

Rio Starr sighs, then looks down, his posture relaxing. "It's not that, Sabrina." He looks over to Merasu and Gabe, and nods. "Good night, both of you."

Rio Starr glances over at Lexi and gives him a disgruntled look. He seems uncomfortable for some reason.

Lexi Vargas: tips his head back on the chair and closes his eyes, resting.

Sabrina McGee: So, Doc.. how long's it gonna take for Rae and Lexi and all the other wounded folk to heal?
Rio Starr smiles a little, lifting his shoulder. "Seemed a bit," he replies apologetically. He looks back toSabrina. "They're healing up quickly... stitches can come out in a couple days for Rae and Shen. Lexi might be another day beyond that, i don't want him tearing any internal stitches..."
Sabrina McGee: internal? Lexi, your wounds were that bad?
Lexi Vargas: grunts in a male form of reply.
Rio Starr glances over to Lexi, then back to Sabrina. "As for activity...nothing too strenuous, but... they can do more." he nods to Sabrina. "Lexi's liver was clipped. No arteries were punctured, but... liver wounds can be bad."
Sabrina McGee sighs.. "Gorramit.. now I'm gonna be all worried about y'all.."
Lexi Vargas: mutters lazily..."Just made me a few pints low is all."
Xiao Li (Alycia Unknown) types intently, muttering to herself

((the crew hears some muffled sounds coming from downstairs somewhere.. possibly of the female persuasion..))

Rio Starr looks back to Till and chuckles. Then he blinks at the sounds coming from downstairs.

Montanio Andalso glances over to Tillery. He forms a bit of a pout and then leans against the bar. "It sounds like someone is in /trouble/."

Jadi Goodliffe looks annoyed, and pushes off from the bar. "Always somethin' interruptin' my fun..."
Downstairs, the room appears empty.

Montanio Andalso looks over at Rio. "Was that you?"

Rio Starr strides around the room, even heading down the range area. 'No, no one... but we heard it."

Montanio Andalso shrugs a little. "I guess it was a ghost."
Tillery Woodhen: well, I'm gonna head back to the other bar.

Rio Starr hmmms and moves to the walls, listening.
Montanio Andalso looks to Lexi. "I just call things ghosts if I can't explain them."
Jadi Goodliffe moves towards One Section of the wall, and leans against it. "Unless it's comin' out've the range, there ain't nothin' else. I'm guessin', prank."
Lexi Vargas: nods. "Figure that is as good a reason as any. " He shrugs easily. "Good luck with that Jadi woman there."
Montanio Andalso grins. "Thanks. I think I'll go back to the ship now. This wait is more torture than anything she could do to me. I need to just sleep through it I think."
Rio Starr mmms softly at Jadi, and keeps meandering around the lower level. "Nothing in the range... and I don't see any speakers."
Lexi Vargas: I am heading back that way myself. Soon as the Doc gets done with his business.
You: "Do you have hidden surveillance/communication systems down here, Jadi?"
Montanio Andalso exhales and nods a little, then meanders off towards the ship.
Jadi Goodliffe cocks an eyebrow towards Rio. "Ignorance is bliss, Doc. Ain't ya heard that 'fore?"
Rio Starr pauses and looks seriously at Jadi for a long moment. Then he sighs. "Right," he says very quietly. He doesn't sound like he believes it, though.
Jadi Goodliffe pushes off from the wall towards Rio, and goes to guide him back upstairs by the arm.. "Don't ya got folks ta keep an eye on?"
Rio Starr turns to the stairs of his own volition, shying away from her touch for a moment. "I do..." he replies softly, frowning.

Later, in a 'secret torture room' that leads off a tunnel, everyone bursts in to find Merasu strapped in a rack and Gabe with her, holding a knife.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) 's concentration is broken and she's flooded with guilt. "won't be..for you ...just..let me ..go.."
Rio Starr makes his way somehow down. "What...
Gabriel Keats: "I can't! They see me! I hear them, and it's never quiet. I want to be quiet!"

Montanio Andalso blinnnnnks. "What the hell...."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks up at rio and mont, eyes glazed. "hi...guys.."
Rio Starr hurries inside at the yelling. "What... " he starts to ask, then he moves towards Gabe and Rae. "What the hell is going on?"
Lexi Vargas: /hears this and just gets the bad prickly feeling that it is not good news. He steps back and hits tht edoor with his shoulder to get it open, (unless the knob he tried worked first)
Gabriel Keats turns around, hands bloody from the knife.
Gabriel Keats: "You can't be here! They'll want you too, for trophies. Line you up on a shelf."
Rio Starr: "Oh...Gabe... come on. Talk to me, okay?" He dosn't come closer, but he does offer the man a hand, a peace offering.
Gabriel Keats backs up, next to Rae, still holding the knife. "Go!"
Montanio Andalso arches his brows. "Hey...untie her...what are you, nuts?" Then he looks to the Captain in her bleary state, "I have no history of mental illness, by the way. I'm a very stable person."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) sighs and is oddly amused by mont, hoping this doesnt mean she's too far gone. "listen..."
Rio Starr frowns. "Rae... are you okay?"
Montanio Andalso hmmms and looks to Rio. "You take care of the Captain...I'll distract Gabe and...Lexi take him down once the knife isn't pointed at you?"
Gabriel Keats: "I can't listen! Too loud, there are guns going off. Cannon to the right. . ."
Lexi Vargas: is not a peaceful person and he dosen't waste any time in drawing a pistol, tho for the moment he keeps it aimed at the floor. "Captain....how bad he hurt you?"

Lexi Vargas: slowly trys to ease around behind Gabe. The red head is not saying a word.
Gabriel Keats drops the knife. "You'll have to shoot me."
Montanio Andalso circles the picnic table and then coos, "Darling...look over here...do we look like people in a war?" Then he strikes a ridiculous pose, something that should seem strongly out of place.
Rio Starr moves closer. "No shooting..." he says, trying to keep his voice reassuring. "Just talking, okay?"
Gabriel Keats looks at Montanio. "Just a play. I had lines."
Gabriel Keats: "No truth, just a story."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) 's head swings toward Lexi. "dun..hurt...'m..too..bad.."
Montanio Andalso winks at Gabe, just trying to keep him distracted enough for Lexi to do his thing. He nods a little, encouraging the fellow to talk some more.
Gabriel Keats steps towards Rae. "Need a bullet"
Rio Starr keeps movin closer, his eyes on Gabe as he tries to get closer to Merasu. "Then what is the truth, Gabe...." he says."

Lexi Vargas: takes no shooting at face value. Since he can't use the pistol to shoot the nut case...he just trys to use it to give Gabe a noice gentle (yeah right) Love tap to the noggon...hoping to put his lights out. Concussions are curable. Right?

Lexi Vargas: Lets Gabe puddle at his feet..then asks Rio..."Don't hurt him? What do I look like? A thug?"
Montanio Andalso exhales and then offers some applause. "Well that was bizarre. Drugged, do you think? He didn't have anything to drink though. It would explain why he was so nice to me though." He considers Gabe for a moment.
Rio Starr sighs at Lexi, and tries to unshackle Rae quickly. "Drugged or something."
Lexi Vargas: It takes drugs to be nice to you Mont...I will remember that.
Gabriel Keats smiles lazily. "Quiet. . ." He closes his eyes, out.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) gives the doc a glassy look.. "down..pls."
Rio Starr tries to figure out the shackle locks. "Dammit... Lexi, can you get her down?"
Montanio Andalso reaches down and picks up the knife, then glances left and right to see if anyone noticed that.
Sabrina McGee looks at Mont.. "No funny business.. I -am- still back here watching.."
Lexi Vargas: puts his gun away and moves to try and figure out the strap work.
Rio Starr lets Lexi get Rae out, and checks on Gabe himself, lifting his eyelids and checking his pulse.

Montanio Andalso looks back to Sabrina. "I was just...you know...making sure it didn't get left behind."
Lexi Vargas: asks casually as he works on the buckles and straps that bind her . "So Captain....does this mean I get a raise?" Once she is free he is right there to catch her if she droops.

Montanio Andalso walks to Sabrina and offers her the knife, handle first. "Just for reference...I've known you a few days now...and no one has had to crack /me/ on the head because I was trying to filet the captain." He smiles with closed lips and lids his eyes a little. Then he makes to assist with carrying.

Rio Starr moves over to Lexi's side, checking Rae's head as everyone carries or gets carried.
Sabrina McGee: Mister, that may be true.. but you ever heard the saying, "Nobody beats up my brother except me?"

Lexi Vargas: mutters as he heads to the ship with an arm loard of Captain.."I want a nap"
Gabriel Keats sometimes groans, but doesn't say anything coherent or try to move

Montanio Andalso grins. "Well...that's my job, isn't it?" He gives his hair a flick. "Couldn't do it without the muscle backing me up though."
Lexi Vargas: lays the captain on the table in the med bay and drapes a cover over her.
Sabrina McGee: Okay.. Doc.. is Gabe gonna be out for a while? I dunno if we could handle him going batshit nuts again..
Montanio Andalso offers, "I could rub his back and make comforting sounds..."
Rio Starr shakes his head. "I have /no/ idea. I don't know what he's been drugged with...don't want to give him a sedative as it might have a bad reaction." He sighs. "Just have to hold him for a minute...let me look at Cap'n's head."
Lexi Vargas: I'll make sure he stays down.
Lexi Vargas: :boggles briefly at Montanio...then takes up a guardly post over Gabe.
Rio Starr nods ot Lexi, and quickly checks Rae's head out. "Probably a concussion here... I'll have to stitch her scalp. You guys behind me when she wakes up and finds some of her head shaved?"
Gabriel Keats doesn't take much guarding. It almost seems as though he's strugging against consciousness

Rio Starr doesn't wait for full response. he digs out the kit and gives Rae a sexy tonsure, clipping only what he really has to.
Montanio Andalso does comment, "Short hair /is/ very authoritative."
Lexi Vargas: That was some strange stuff. I don't want to know what he was planning to do.
Rio Starr: "Lexi...keep an eye on his breathing and check his eyes every once in a while. If anything seems off, let me know." He cleans up and snaps on his gloves, then numbs Rae's head with the spray. "I don't know if he meant to be drugged."
Gabriel Keats half opens his eyes, whispering. "Shoulda shot me" He closes them again.
Lexi Vargas: has all the medical training of a turnip. He ponders Gabe a moment...then counts. "He still has two eyes and they are moving....looks fine to me)
Montanio Andalso does, actually, know a few things about drugs, specifically those of the recreational variety. He might recognize symptoms of those.
Rio Starr glances over as Gabe mutters, and nods. "Well, he's able to talk...that's a good thing..." he mutters quietly. He focuses then on getting Rae fixed up. It doesn't take long, at least. "So...nobody saw anyone give Gabe anything?"
Sabrina McGee: When could they have.. Cap'n was on him all night about not drinking..
Lexi Vargas: says agreeably to Gabe. "I can still shoot you. But I'll wait till nobody is looking."

Rio Starr cleans up the last of Rae's blood, then takes his gloves off. He moves to Gabe's side, checking his stats, then trying to lift him. "Help me get his shirt off."
Gabriel Keats doesn't have anything on him....but there's a red welt on his wrist.
Rio Starr probes lightly at the welt. "There's something under his skin..."
Gabriel Keats jerks reflexively
Lexi Vargas: makes a slight face. "Thankt can't be good"
Montanio Andalso shivers, from his toes all the way up his spine, shaking his fingertips. "Ugh! I just got one of those sympathetic shivers...you know...just at the thought of there being something under his skin. BLEH!!!!" He turns in a circle.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) lies there, out cold and oblivious. Getting the first decent rest she's probably had in a week.
Lexi Vargas: That can't be good"
Rio Starr frowns deeply, and digs out the scalpels. No lasers on this, just in case the object react to heat.
Montanio Andalso can't look. He hums some recent pop tune and looks pointedly at the rivits in the space ship.
Sabrina McGee scrunches up her face.. "There's something under his skin?"
Sabrina McGee: "Like a bug, maybe?"
Lexi Vargas: helps by leaning on Gabe and holding him still.
Rio Starr mmms noncommitally, and, once he swabs Gabe's wrist down, he sets the scalpel to the man's skin. Then, one quick motion of his hand, a twist, a rather disturbing squelch of flesh parting...and Rio makes a quiet, "Aaaah. There we are."
Montanio Andalso looks over one shoulder. "Is it over? What is it?"
Gabriel Keats opens his eyes in shock
Rio Starr lifts something small, about the size of a coriander seed, off the scalpel blade, and holds it up. "A drug distributor... designed to give off a constant dose of ...something."
Lexi Vargas: trys to look as best he can while being a restraining device. "Where are we? What is it?"
Rio Starr looks down to Gabe, his eyes wide and concerned. "Well...that was quick. You're with us now, right?"
Lexi Vargas: Nasty....How long could that have been in there?'
Rio Starr shakes his head. "By the welt and swelling...a few days."
Gabriel Keats: "Too many people. . ."
Gabriel Keats: "Not enough clocks. It hurts."
Rio Starr sighs softly. "Gabe... what do you need?" he asks, leaning forward slightly to try to get the man to look at him.
Montanio Andalso exhales with relief. "Oh good...then it can't be pinned on me."
Gabriel Keats: "I wanted them to stop."
Rio Starr winces at Gabe's words. "relax...breathe. I'll give you something that might help fuzz things a bit. Okay?"
Gabriel Keats: "Drink? Captain says I can't. No earplugs."
Gabriel Keats: "She okay?"
Rio Starr looks up at everyone. "I have a feeling this is serious," he says very quietly, no expression in his voice, on his face. He moes to a cabinet, unlocking it and pulling out a vial. "Yes, Gabe...she's okay. She'll be up in no time and wanting to kill me."
Rio Starr doesn't comment on Gabe's pure Core accent.
Gabriel Keats: "No she won't. Men are going to find us. . .and you know. They'll have to kill you. It has to be quiet."
Lexi Vargas: Leans on Gabe a bit lighter...."Yeah. Suspect so." His drawl remains. No chance Lex is core.
Montanio Andalso asks with some concern, "So you think someone knew of his ...ah...wartime 'issues' and did this on purpose?"
Gabriel Keats turns his head, trying to look at the doctor. "It isn't your fault."
Rio Starr sighs at Gabe. "They won't kill me. But we'll have to watch out for the others," he tells him as he fills a hypo with the 'magic potion' in his vial. "Not that. We'll talk ... let's get Gabe able to think clearly."
Rio Starr looks up to Montanio at that last.
Rio Starr just seems...very tired and sad, now.
Lexi Vargas: Looks over..."Hang in there Doc"
Gabriel Keats speaks with conviction. "It's not."
Sabrina McGee: So was that thing making him crazy? Or keeping him sane?
Rio Starr: "Gabe...how long did they have you?" He looks toSabrina and smiles slightly. There's really no humor in it, it's more like a rictus of stifled emotion. "Yes?" he answers.
Rio Starr quickly gives Gabe the shot.
Gabriel Keats stares at the ceiling for a long moment.
Montanio Andalso has the sort of accent that suggests next to nothing about his origins, one way or another. He stares down at Rio and Gabe, his eyes bright and focused. The longer he is here, the more he learns.
Gabriel Keats: "It's quiet." He looks at the doc. "Thanss."
Rio Starr smiles gently now and nods. "Just...watch the drinking, okay? Don't want you to be a drooling mess."
Gabriel Keats seems to be focusing hard on making the words sound normal. "No one had me. Why'd you cut open my wrist, doc?"
Gabriel Keats: "The drinking made it stop. That's the only reason I did."
Gabriel Keats: "Ain't like I'm a drunk."
Lexi Vargas: slowly releases Gabe but stays close at hand
Rio Starr pats Gabriel's shoulder gently with one hand as he puts away the tools of his trade with the other. "You had a foreign object lodged under your skin." He chuckles finally. "No, you're not...but alcohol and the kind of sedative I gave you /will/ make it hard to do anything at all but sleep."
Rio Starr looks up to everyone. 'So... you think we might be able to actually get that chicken soup started soon?"
Gabriel Keats: "I haven't slept in 'bout five days."
Montanio Andalso looks over to Lexi at that. "Well, Mr Cook?"
Gabriel Keats sits up.
Rio Starr: "We need to get some real food in these guys...and in everyone else."
Gabriel Keats: "I don't know about eatin'. I feel kinda sick."
Lexi Vargas: levers himself up with a soft grunt. "Ok...I will see whats in the galley and cobble something up."
Sabrina McGee: Just don't rearrange anything or Shen'll have my hide!
Sabrina McGee takes a moment.. thinks..
Sabrina McGee: Don't. say. a. word.
Rio Starr: "How about some tea?" he offers to Gabe. "might help that a bit."
Gabriel Keats: "I could handle some tea, yeah."
Montanio Andalso suggests, "Bread is always good for soaking too."
Gabriel Keats tries very hard *not* to look at Montanio
Montanio Andalso has that sort of effect on straight men.
Rio Starr pads over to Rae, checking on her as well. "It doesn't seem like she has a serious concussion. She'll probably have a headache and we better not let her fly anything for a few days."
Gabriel Keats looks at him, concerned. "She's going to be okay, then?"
Montanio Andalso can sense the man's uncomfortableness, and he props one hand on his hip and just grins a little, like he is intensely amused.
Rio Starr nods. "Yes. Though...I think we're /all/ going to have to have a conversation."
Gabriel Keats looks at Mont. "I ain't uncomfortable. Just feel bad for tryin' to play you is all."
Montanio Andalso waggles his brows at Gabe. "Mmmhmmm."
Gabriel Keats: "Yeah, there will be. . ."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) stirs slightly, hearing voices far off and feeling irritated they won't shut up because her head hurts so much.
Gabriel Keats is not in the mood. Blows a fake kiss at him and rolls his eyes. "Now that we've got that luh se over with..."
Rio Starr mmms and touches Rae's shoulder. "Hey, Cap'n...welcome back."
Gabriel Keats stands and looks at Rae, alarmed
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) makes an irritated noise and tries to brush away Rio's hand. She opens her eyes and closes them rapidly. "Gorram. My head hurts."
Montanio Andalso takes a breath. "I think I'll go help in the kitchen." Give the Doc and recovering folks a little space.
Rio Starr digs into his dwindling supply, then doses Rae with painkiller. Just to ease the hammers.
Gabriel Keats whispers. "Sorry..."
Kitchen:
Lexi Vargas: is leaning on the post in the kitchen and looking rather tired as he stirs a slowly heating pot of stuff.
Montanio Andalso comes up to the kitchen and then leans on the counter. "Its getting all kinds of strange down there."
Lexi Vargas: chuckles. "It always does. Get some bowls out...counter over there."
Montanio Andalso goes to fetch the bowls and brings them back over to where Lexi is. "It smells pretty edible."
Lexi Vargas: "Its the best I could do with out real chicken. It has the flavor tho."
Lexi Vargas: What are they doing down there that is so strange?
Montanio Andalso exhales. "Well...clearly Gabe is coming off of some sort of...drug issue, and he is feeling bad for having flirted with me earlier. But its not like I actually mind. And obviously everyone is concerned for what is really going on, and I didn't want to be down there since the Captain was coming around."
In the somewhat quieter medbay:
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) relaxes visibly, "You owe me some chocolate Gabe...you better now?"
Rio Starr smiles at Gabe and Rae a bit. "Both of you up to trying some tea, maybe some soup? Or at least have a good talk."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Dunno if I'm up for food right now Doc.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): What we got to talk about?
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Gabe.
Gabriel Keats avoids making eye contact
Rio Starr: "An explanation."
Gabriel Keats says irritably, "Ain't you the one what explains things, bein' the doctor and all?"
Rio Starr lifts his brows and chuckles. "Well, I can explain a good bit...but not all."
Gabriel Keats: "Why don't you start and I fill in the gaps. . .after I get some tea. My head's. . .fuzzy."
Rio Starr nods and offers Rae a hand up, though he keeps an eye on Gabe as well. "Let's all go to the mess."
Gabriel Keats walks, a little carefully
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) slowly tries to sit up..taking Rio's hand...feeling like something is stuck on her face. "Whats.." lifts her hand and feels stitches..."You shave me doc?"
Rio Starr blushes and clears his throat. "Ah...yes?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks positively miserable. Gets up and slowly stumbles her way to the galley.
Rio Starr follows after, so he can be there if either patient stumbles.
The doc and the two injured parties make their way into the kitchen.
Lexi Vargas: stirs the pot thoughtfully. "Typical night at the Raven then. : He fills a bowl and offers it to Mont..then gives a tired grin to the new arrivals. "Hope I did not dent your head to bad Gabe'
Gabriel Keats: "Ain't a problem. I ever do it again, I hope you're right there behind me."
Montanio Andalso takes a bowl and sits down to eat it, rather quiet for the moment.
Rio Starr: "That smells great, Lexi...thank you."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) takes a few tentative sips of the soup.. "Thanks lexi." says subdued.
Lexi Vargas: takes a seat on the counter..."Hey..glad to help"
Gabriel Keats tries the soup. "This ain't bad."
Rio Starr leans against the table, sipping at the soup. "mmm. Very good. So... Where to start..."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) puts the soup down and waits expectantly, staring at the table
Rio Starr: "Gabe had a distributor under the skin of his wrist. it's not been there for long, a few days at most. What kind of drug? I'm not 100 percent positive...but I think it might be an inhibitor."
Gabriel Keats: "No offense, but I didn't seem too inhibited."
Gabriel Keats leans against the table. "This happened before. . ."
Rio Starr waves his spoon at Gabe. "Not that kind of inhibitor. do you know about the part of your brain which processes stimuli and controls emotion? It inhibited that." he blinks. "It did?"
Gabriel Keats: "Yeah. I got picked up at the Battle of Serenity Valley. the MPs locked me up, said I was a deserter. They took me to Londinium. They gave me somethin', but I figured I just got broke by the questioning."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) listens silently
Rio Starr drops his spoon into his bowl. "Ah...do you...happen to remember anyone in particular from that time?" he asks quietly.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks to Mont.. "Get out."
Montanio Andalso arches his brows. "As you wish, Mon Capitan."
Gabriel Keats shakes his head. "At that point, I'd been to hell and back. Don't know that I'd've remembered a damn thing."
Lexi Vargas: is listening to this with his eyes closed...."What did I do now?:
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Nothin lexi
Rio Starr relaxes a bit and nods to Gabriel, then looks over at hte others. "Mm. Well, that's probably a good thing, Gabe. And we'll change the subject?"
Gabriel Keats looks at Rio. "One last question, doc? That stuff you gave me--how long's that gonna work?"
Gabriel Keats: "Be straight with me. I can't shoot like this."
Rio Starr: "six to eight hours, depending on your system.
Gabriel Keats: "Am I gonna clear up?"
Rio Starr: "Well...you won't be fuzzy...but... other things are going to maybe come back. It's just like a damper or a blanket over your head."
Gabriel Keats , quietly. "Am I going to start hearing things again?"
Rio Starr sighs, giving a rueful smile. "Maybe...but...tell me. What kind of things do you hear? Do you recognize them?"
Gabriel Keats: "Sometimes I do. I mean, it's you, or the Cap'n, or Sabrina, or whoever."
Rio Starr nods. "That's what I thought."
Gabriel Keats: "There're these other ones, though. . .it's like they're tryin' to make me hear them."
Rio Starr frowns at that. "Were you listening earlier?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) blurts out.. "he's a reader"
Lexi Vargas: gets up, yawning. "Big as all this is...I am done in."
Rio Starr nods to Rae. "...yes."
Gabriel Keats: "Listening? To what?"
Rio Starr looks over to Lexi and smiles. "Okay, Lexi. I think I'd like to find out more about this before getting you, Montanio and the rest of the crew tangled up in what 'might be'...
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): That would be a cue to leave Lexi
Lexi Vargas: Ya think so....I would have missed that. Night all
Gabriel Keats: 'night.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): you love me anyway lexi
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): remember..we're sharing bunks tonight
Montanio Andalso looks for something important and small in regards to the ship controls.
Lexi Vargas: I am to pooped to howl
Rio Starr: "Good night, Lexi." He laughs softly at Rae's words, looking to the poor ruffled captain. "Be gentle to him, though. I dont want to have to redo stitches."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): yeah sure..Im' not up for grapplin anyhow.
Gabriel Keats sighs. "Face, if you wanna poke around the damn ship, start in my bunk."
Lexi Vargas: going to be packed with he and I both in there
Montanio Andalso looks over his shoulder from the hallway, curious how Gabe knew he was up to something. He narrows his eyes, thinks for a moment, then looks around curiously for a bunk labeled 'Gabe'.
Gabriel Keats: ::it's the first one, on the left::
Gabriel Keats: " You got somethin' to tell me, Doc?"
Montanio Andalso makes like Goldilocks, totally stealing the bed and praying he looks cute enough not to wake up.
Rio Starr glances down the hallway, then sets his partially-eaten bowl of soup down. He moves into the galley to start working on making tea. "Yes, I do. Rae was right....you're a reader."
Gabriel Keats: ". . .makes sense. . ."
Gabriel Keats: "What's that mean, though?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Means you can read minds.
Gabriel Keats: "Why's there a word for it?"
Rio Starr nods, and looks over to Rae, then chuckles quietly. "That...or at least sense things that others can't. But it sounds like, in your case, you can make out individual thoughts. A word for it?"
Gabriel Keats: "I can't really hear go se right now, but I can tell you know somethin' I don't."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) continues to listen.
Rio Starr drops his gaze down, curling his hands up as he frowns, looking intently at his hands. "A bit. My family...mm. Well. Our company produces a lot of...interesting drugs and chemicals. My father designed the Pax. He and my uncle worked on people who were very 'sensitive' to things, as well. Readers."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Rio.
Gabriel Keats: "Like. . .what they gave me?"
Rio Starr sighs and looks up. "Yes," he says simply. "And worse. That's part of why I didn't want to take over the company."
Rio Starr: "Besides it meaning a battle with my stepfather and Blue Sun."
Gabriel Keats looks at him, face serious. "Makes you a good guy."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Yeah..Glad you're with us..instead of them.
Rio Starr shakes his head. "No. There's a lot of blood on our hands. I've got a lot of recompense to do to be a good guy."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Well, you're starting in the right place.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) continues to look down at the table.
Gabriel Keats: "Their hands ain't yours."
Rio Starr: "My family's name is, though. And I want to find out if my father was killed for all of this." He smiles a bit, then looks to Merasu. "You think so?" he asks softly, hopefully.
Montanio Andalso shifts in bed, then looks up the open hole. He leans over to Gabe's drawers and opens one nice and slow and quiet, to find some pajamas. His current clothes are really starting to get that icky 'worn for days' feeling.
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): yeah.. *said softly*
Gabriel Keats: ::there's a bloody shirt and two empty bottles of whiskey::
Montanio Andalso sighs softly at the dismal clothes situation. "I'm needed here..." he whispers sagely.
Rio Starr sighs very softly. "...I hope ... that I can at least help." He shrugs slightly. "Did you know people on Miranda, Rae?"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) glances sideways, "heard rumors.."
Lexi Vargas: (heh)
Rio Starr mmms quietly. "I had an impression for some reason...that it was a little more than that."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): No....
Gabriel Keats heads over to his bunk
Gabriel Keats: "WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) winces
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks miserably at Rio. "is it noticeable?"
Montanio Andalso peeks his eyes open a little, all cute and tired looking. "Hmmm?"
Gabriel Keats: "You're in my bed."
Rio Starr nods, his brows lifting. "That's a good thing." He blinks and leans over to try to peer at the ruckus, then looks back to Merasu with a small smile. "No. I just have a guilty conscience."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): huh?
Montanio Andalso forms a little pout. "But...you said...I could come in here."
Gabriel Keats: " I was going to lock you in."
Gabriel Keats: ". . .you went through my drawers?!"
Montanio Andalso rolls over. "Fine with me. It sucks to sleep inside a box."
Rio Starr shakes his head and smiles a bit. Then he looks over towards the argument. "I think...we might want to help over there?"
Gabriel Keats: "I CAN HANDLE IT!"
Gabriel Keats grabs him by the collar of his shirt.
Rio Starr lift shis brows high, his eyes going wide in surprise. "Well...okay. I guess we won't help." He's trying to not laugh.
Montanio Andalso stirs awake again and looks up at Gabriel. "/Later/, I'm kind of too tired for that right now..." he purrs.
Gabriel Keats lets go, dropping him roughly on the bed. "Whatever."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) calls out, "Gabe, you can have the extra bunk."
Gabriel Keats: "Thanks"
Montanio Andalso smiles softly. "Such a gentleman...thank you."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): Shut UP MONT
Rio Starr shakes his head, wincing himself at the yelling. "Hey, hey...relax, people."
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis): sorry doc
Montanio Andalso curls up in a comfy ball!
Rio Starr chuckles softly. "Its okay...but you and Gabe might be hurting if the yelling continues...
Cap'n Rae (Merasu Acropolis) looks at Rio. "Wanna tuck me in?"
